When I reviewed Transformers: Dark of the Moon for Wii, I promised you a follow up on the distinction between the Wii version and the version for Xbox360 and Ps3 – Activision was nice and handed over a version for the Xbox 360.
I’ve been playing it for a couple days, and I got pretty hooked. The experience is more polished, and another experience in the end. While there’s stealth force mode in both games (which were introduced in the latest movie, so I guess this was a must for the games) the graphics and the story seems to be miles apart.
The Wii version of Transformers: Dark of the Moon is more fast paced and doesn’t have the robot mode, so this game is more so a driving shooter, while the “bigger”/other one tends to be a first person shooter – for that I kind of like the Wii version more because I found it to be more fun. The X360/PS3 version is more varied, so in this way more players would find this game to be superior, including me. The graphics are no doubt more polished and beautiful in the Xbox version and the story is also more thought through with a little bit better voice over.
Boss fights
Boss fights in the X360/PS3 version are also more epic, as they change gameplay and how to beat the boss – the Wii version seems to be the same most of the time. Both games change sides between Autobots and Decepticons during the career, depending on which mission you’re playing – I would really have liked two different stories, one for each faction.
